What is the DEW referral bonus?
The DEW Recovery Services Referral Bonus Program pays 1% to 5% of DEW's collected fee on a case when someone provides new, verified information that helps DEW find a former homeowner, heir, or family member. The full 5% is only for the person's direct, working phone number. Referrers fill out a referral form and do not become clients.
Fill out the referral formThe better the connection, the higher the bonus.
We set the final stage after we verify your information.
| Stage | Bonus | What you provide | Requirement |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. The Lead | 1% | A useful new detail for our notes, such as a last-known city, employer, or a relative's name. | The detail helps us find the person. |
| 2. The Trail | 2% | The person's current address or active social media profile. | We confirm it belongs to the person. |
| 3. The Family Tie | 3% | Contact information for a relative or friend who can connect us with the person. | That contact helps us reach the person. |
| 4. The Open Door | 4% | The person's own email or private message account. | The person replies to us. |
| 5. The Direct Line | 5% | The person's direct, working phone number. No other information qualifies for 5%. | The person confirms the number is theirs. |
Example: If DEW's fee on a case is $10,000, Stage 1 pays $100 and Stage 5 pays $500. The bonus comes from our fee, not the person's share.

What you need to know.
- You must submit the referral form to be eligible for a bonus.
- Your information must be new to us and belong to the person you're referring.
- A bonus is paid only after the person signs with DEW, money is recovered, and DEW collects its fee.
- Each case pays one bonus. Stages don't add together, and the first valid submission gets credit.
- We set the final stage after we verify your information.
- The bonus comes from DEW's fee, not from the person's share.
- DEW team members can't earn a bonus, and a claimant can't earn a bonus on their own case.
- For privacy, we can't tell you about any person, property, claim, or amount.
- Share only information you're allowed to share, and don't contact anyone on our behalf.
- We may ask for a W-9 before we pay a bonus.
- The program is offered where allowed by law. We may change or end it for referrals we haven't yet verified.
Common referral questions.
- How much is the DEW Recovery Services referral bonus?
- The bonus is 1% to 5% of the fee DEW collects on the case. The percentage depends on the stage of the information you provide and what we can verify. For example, if DEW's fee on a case is $10,000, Stage 1 pays $100 and Stage 5 pays $500.
- How do I earn the full 5% referral bonus?
- Provide the person's direct, working phone number. It must be new to us, and the person must confirm the number is theirs. Any other information earns a lower stage.
- What qualifies for the 1% referral bonus?
- A useful new detail that helps us find the person, such as a last-known city, employer, or relative's name. You must fill out the referral form to make a claim.
- Do I have to become a client to refer someone?
- No. A referral is separate from client sign-up. You fill out the referral form and don't create a client account.
- When is a referral bonus paid?
- A bonus is paid after the person signs with DEW, money is recovered, and DEW collects its fee. If those steps don't happen, no bonus is owed.
- Does a referral reduce what the person receives?
- No. The bonus comes from DEW's fee, not from the person's share.
- Who can refer someone to DEW Recovery Services?
- Family members, friends, neighbors, coworkers, and others who know the person can refer them. DEW team members can't earn a bonus, and a claimant can't earn a bonus on their own case.
- Can you tell me whether someone is owed money?
- No. To protect everyone's privacy, we can't tell you about any person, property, claim, or amount.
- How do I check my referral status?
- Enter your reference number and email in the status check on this page. You'll see a general status, but no case details.
